The BIC Araba is seeking grant applications to support the creation, consolidation, and expansion of businesses in the territory.
This initiative seeks to modernize and diversify the local production fabric while improving the competitiveness of companies operating in Álava. By providing financial assistance, the program encourages entrepreneurship and helps emerging businesses thrive in the region.
Eligible beneficiaries include individuals from Álava with projects to establish a new business unit, natural or legal persons with businesses no older than two years, legal entities seeking to diversify by creating new business units, and even individuals or companies based outside Álava that are relocating or establishing a center of activity in the territory.
New businesses can receive grants of up to €80,000, while companies seeking consolidation or expansion can qualify for funding of up to €20,000, including a maximum of €10,000 for hiring staff. The program covers a wide range of eligible expenses designed to support business development and growth.
For new businesses, eligible expenses include market and feasibility studies, technical advice, prototype design and construction (up to €20,000), and costs related to patents, trademarks, and approvals (up to €10,000). Training directly related to business activities, up to 350 hours and not included in existing regulated training, can be funded up to €3,000. Communication and marketing expenses are covered up to €20,000, along with investments in fixed assets, excluding land, buildings, and vehicles. Rental costs for business premises in Álava are eligible up to €10,000 per year.
For businesses seeking consolidation or expansion, funding can support external consulting and legal advice, technical studies, communication and marketing expenses (up to €20,000), management improvement training under 350 hours, acquisition of fixed assets to boost productivity and competitiveness, and the hiring of technology specialists or business developers.
