Deadline Date: January 04, 2026
Have you already developed a prototype or MVP and are ready to bring your STEM innovation to market? The Nobellum Growth Stream is designed for devoted innovators who are prepared to launch and scale their ventures.
Since its launch, Nobellum has empowered over 100 Black-owned STEM businesses, creating jobs, fostering innovation, and generating millions in revenue across Canada and Africa. Building on this success, the 2026 Growth Stream is designed to accelerate high-potential, revenue-generating startups through a focused six-month accelerator, preparing them to scale and raise external capital.
The program’s impact is significant. To date, 121 Black-owned STEM businesses have launched, reaching over 9,000 founders through direct programming and events. Supported ventures have created more than 250 jobs, generated $20 million in revenue, and received $200,000 in funding through Nobellum’s endowment with the University of Toronto Scarborough. The program has also formalized 36 national and international partnerships, connecting founders to an extensive ecosystem of resources and opportunities.
The 2026 Growth Stream offers founders a high-impact experience that combines business acceleration with leadership development. Participants gain access to one-on-one Executive in Residence coaching, where experienced executives, investors, and domain experts provide mentorship to refine strategy and guide growth. Co-working space access across the Greater Toronto Area fosters collaboration and productivity, while a partnered STEM facility provides access to 178,000 square feet of labs and nearly 100 scientists working in fields such as advanced manufacturing, biotech, textile computing, and advanced materials.
Founders also benefit from the Scale Up Program, offering hands-on support in strategic planning, financial modeling, market research, and operational scaling. Technical Development Tracks give access to partners and tools to strengthen product development, financial planning, and go-to-market execution. Media exposure and PR training, including opportunities with CityTv News, elevate founder visibility, culminating in a professionally produced Demo Day attended by investors, corporate partners, and ecosystem leaders.
Nobellum also connects founders to the Black Innovation Zone (BIZ), a national coalition of 20+ Black-led investors and accelerators, and provides tailored support through RFP training with Expert Procurement Canada and intellectual property guidance through IPON. These resources help founders navigate government contracts, protect innovations, and commercialize their work effectively.
To be eligible for the Growth Stream, ventures must be Black-led with at least one Black founder, operate in a STEM-related industry, and be incorporated federally or provincially in Canada. Ventures must also meet financial thresholds, either generating over $100,000 CAD in annual sales or owning intellectual property with a company valuation exceeding $3 million CAD.
The Nobellum Innovator Program offers an unparalleled opportunity for Black-led STEM ventures to scale, connect, and thrive, providing the mentorship, resources, and visibility needed to achieve sustainable growth and long-term success.
