Deadline Date: January 09, 2026
ShEquity Partners (ShEquity) in partnership with the Agency of business and economic development (AWE) and GreenTec Capital Africa Foundation is launching the “Unlocking Carbon Credit Opportunities for African Gender-smart Green SMEs” project in Ghana.
The project is designed to empower gender-smart, climate-focused small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access voluntary carbon markets, create jobs, and attract private investment.
Participating SMEs will benefit from support to better understand and navigate carbon markets, along with hands-on coaching and practical business tools. The program will provide guidance to strengthen operations, enhance business resilience, and position enterprises for future investment opportunities. Catalytic funding and tailored business tools will further help SMEs implement sustainable practices and scale their impact.
Eligibility for the program is targeted at gender-smart, climate-focused SMEs that are legally registered and authorized to operate in Ghana as for-profit companies. Enterprises must have been in operation for at least three years and demonstrate a positive social, environmental, and carbon emission impact. Additionally, eligible SMEs should have an annual turnover of at least $50,000 and a management team willing to participate actively throughout the full 20-week program.
This initiative offers a unique opportunity for green SMEs in Ghana to enhance their sustainability, increase their market competitiveness, and contribute meaningfully to climate action while promoting gender-smart business practices.
