The World Wide Fund for Nature invites qualified and experienced firms to submit proposals for production of podcast series on illegal wildlife trade and poaching to be used as resources for the Sacred Lives, Shared Spaces advocacy campaign.
The initiative seeks to educate listeners about the importance of wildlife conservation and the steps communities and individuals can take to reduce demand and supply of illegally traded species.
The series will consist of nine high-quality and engaging episodes covering a range of important topics. Listeners will explore the interconnectedness of all living beings, examining both the ecological and spiritual significance of wildlife. The podcast will also highlight anti-poaching stories from rangers and local communities, with a particular focus on species like the musk deer.
Other episodes will examine traditional practices, rituals, beliefs, and misconceptions that contribute to poaching and illegal wildlife trade, including the use of bear bile, musk pods, tiger and snow leopard skins, and Indian pheasant feathers. The socio-economic significance of wildlife for maintaining healthy landscapes will also be addressed, emphasizing the benefits of conservation for communities and ecosystems alike.
The series aims to inspire behavioral change, encouraging listeners to take actionable steps to curb poaching and illegal wildlife trade, whether as individuals or as part of their communities. The podcast production is scheduled for January to March 2026, with exact dates to be finalized upon the award of the work.
This initiative promises to be an engaging and impactful platform to raise awareness, foster conservation-minded behavior, and strengthen efforts against wildlife crime.
