The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is inviting applications for its Australia-India Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership to support Australia-India collaborations on cyber and critical technology issues, and deepens institutional, research, business, and government linkages.
The Australia-India Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership (AICCTP) is offering research funding The program seeks to promote projects that align with the shared vision of both countries for a rules-based international order and a technologically advanced, inclusive, and stable region.
The fifth round of AICCTP grants prioritizes projects in several key areas. These include the development of international standards to support transparent and securely designed technologies, covering fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, digital public infrastructure, biotechnologies, and emerging space technologies. Other priority areas focus on enhancing cyber resilience and security across the Indo-Pacific and defending an open, free, and interoperable internet through governance mechanisms in international forums.
A total of AUD 1,600,000 is available for this grant round, with individual grants ranging from AUD 100,000 to AUD 200,000. Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria to be considered, and if multiple grant applications for the same project are successful under different Commonwealth programs, applicants must choose either the AICCTP grant or the alternative Commonwealth grant.
Eligible applicants include Australian and Indian institutions, including companies incorporated in Australia or India, companies limited by guarantee, incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, incorporated associations, partnerships, or joint consortium applications led by a qualifying organization. Collaborative research initiatives involving businesses, think tanks, research organizations, or government-owned research entities in either country are also eligible.
Through these grants, AICCTP aims to strengthen Australia-India collaborations in critical technologies, enhance cyber security, and support the creation of globally recognized standards that contribute to a secure and resilient Indo-Pacific region.
